Homemade Doughnuts
Daddy's Doughnut RecipeIngredients: For the doughnuts: For the frosting: Prepare the frosting: Prepare the doughnuts: Separate biscuits and flatten slightly with the heel of your hand. Use an empty pill bottle or film canister to cut out the center hole of the doughnuts. Place doughnuts in hot oil and cook about 45 seconds to one minute. Turn doughnuts over and cook 30 seconds more. They should be golden brown when done. Drain on rack over brown paper bags or paper towels for a minute before dipping in frosting. Doughnut holes may be cooked the same way. As a variation you can dust the doughnuts with confectioner’s sugar or cinnamon sugar instead of the chocolate frosting. The recipe on the back of Hershey's Cocoa Powder for chocolate frosting works great for these as well!
