Healthy Orange Salad

Healthy Salad

This salad recipe calls for navel oranges but we often substitute Mandarin oranges for an asian style twist. This salad is not only healthy, but quick and easy to make for a quick lunch or afternoon luncheon.

If you are going to take it with you, make the dressing in the morning before leaving, and combine them when your ready for lunch.

Orange and Red Salad Recipe

For the salad:

  • 4 cups Romaine lettuce
  • 2 medium navel oranges, peeled and sectioned, or 2 cans mad erin oranges, juice drained
  • 1 small red onion, sliced thin and separated into rings
For the dressing:
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 tbs. red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • healthy pinch salt
  • fresh ground black pepper

combine the salad ingredients in a bowl and toss to combine.

In a separate bowl, whisk together oil, wine vinegar, sugar salt and pepper.

When your ready for lunch (this salad is great anytime by the way!) pour dressing over salad. serve immediately after adding dressing.
