Wedding Cake Recipe
Sift flour, baking powder and spices together 3 times to ensure it is well combined.
In a separate bowl, cream the Crisco and brown sugar until fluffy. Add the nuts, eggs, fruit, honey, molasses and cider. mix well. slowly add the flour mixture mixing well after each addition.
Grease and line cake pans with parchment paper. (for a terraced wedding cake use cake pans of graduating sizes)
pour cake batter in prepared pans and bake at 250 degrees about 2 1/2-3 hours, or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
cool in pans for 20 minutes before turning onto wire rack to cool completely. frost with Ornamental Wedding Cake Icing.
